RESPONDING to a crisis

The ongoing conflict in Sudan has forced over 500,000 people to seek refuge in Chad, fleeing violence and instability. For these refugees, access to basic necessities such as food, water, and medical care has become a daily struggle. In response, HKRF has mobilized resources to provide essential support to these displaced individuals.

One of HKRF’s primary initiatives in Chad is ensuring food security for refugees. Working with local NGOs such as SAPA and APDE, HKRF has facilitated shipments of fortified food to camps in Adré. These shipments have provided much-needed nourishment to thousands of refugees, offering them hope and a chance to rebuild their lives amidst adversity.

To further support healthcare in the region, HKRF has donated hospital beds, crutches, masks, and wheelchairs to the regional hospital in Abéché. These contributions enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide care for both refugees and the local population, addressing urgent medical needs and improving overall health services.

Building Partnerships for Sustainable Impact

In August 2024, HKRF solidified its commitment to Chad by signing an official partnership with the APDE Foundation. This collaboration is a testament to HKRF’s holistic approach to humanitarian aid. Together, these organizations focus on:
